Canal Safety
Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District’s primary concern is for the safety of the public and its employees. For this reason, the District does not allow swimming, fishing, playing, or other recreational activities in and around its canals. During the hot summer months, the water may look inviting but underneath the surface are powerful currents that can pull a person under very quickly. Make sure you and especially children stay a safe distance from all canals.
